Mineral Tailgate Party

On Saturday October 7th several Maine miners, along with others, will be having a tailgate mineral sale.

Frank Perham, Maine’s mining legend will be there with some of the spectacular quartz crystals found from the “Mother Mary Pocket” from Hayes Ledge, Noyes Mountain in Greenwood this summer. This pocket has produced over 3 ton of quartz crystals, most undamaged, which is highly unusual from a Maine pegmatite. Be one of the lucky ones to get a first crack at some of this material out of what is sure to be one of the pockets that are talked about for decades to come.

Many have wondered when they could start to buy some of the specimens that Jeff Morrison has been mining out of the Havey Quarry. This will be your chance. Jeff has been building a new workshop that will have a small sales room on site and this will be the grand opening of the location. The sales room will only be open on a very limited basis other times of the year.

Mike O’Neil who has been mining the Rose Quartz Crystal locality will be there with some of his finds over the last several years also.
